We all know that Danika Ross was a kind and loving soul. A beloved daughter, a wonderful little and big sister, and a kind granddaughter. Danika was born early in the morning on September 4th in 2010 to her mother Margarita and her father Simon.
Danika was very proud of her name, which means Morning Star, but she wasn’t just our Morning Star, she was our SUPERSTAR! She was a cherished younger sister to four of her siblings and an older sister her younger two siblings could truly look up to and admire. She was also a treasured friend and a valued team member that we are all proud to have had.
Danika loved being active and spending time outdoors. A fantastic team player, she played soccer with her team, Crossfire Select, and was an inspirational martial arts student with Z-Ultimate Dojo. She was an excellent swimmer, boater, off-roader, hiker, mountain biker, and in the winter enjoyed going cross country skiing, snowboarding, and ice fishing with her family and friends. Creativity was just as important to Danika, and she could often be found taking lots of photos and videos to record and reflect on precious life moments. Her TikTok videos collected hundreds of thousands of views. A beautiful and intelligent young girl, she was taken from us so tragically and far too soon. Nika, know that you are loved and dearly missed. You’ll be in our hearts and thoughts forever.
Danika‘s Mission
Danika‘s Mission
Although she was just a child, Danika was always trying to spread joy and wanted to help both people and animals however she could.
Danika had a special passion for animals, especially for dogs. She dreamed of one day becoming a veterinarian and opening her own animal clinic. She loved her dogs Strelka and Dusya, and every year on her birthday she volunteered at the Seattle Humane Society to help care for the dogs at the shelter. It would have been her wish to use this moment to bring your kind attention to these causes.
To help those who are not fortunate enough to have a big, loving family, the Charity Fund Pilgrim exists so that people can easily contribute to charities for children without parents in the republics of the former USSR. If you’d like to help continue her mission and preserve her memory, you can use the QR codes to the right to go directly to the contribution’s pages for the Seattle Humane Society and the Charity Fund Pilgrim.
